45mm Insulation-Support Washers

Measuring precisely 45 mm × 45 mm and constructed from solid polypropylene, these flat washers deliver consistent thickness and rigidity. Their square-edged, smooth-surface geometry ensures stable contact with foam board surfaces and compatibility with standard fasteners. Lightweight and chemically inert, they remain dimensionally stable across typical UK ambient temperature ranges. Their primary function is to act as thermal breaks and mechanical buffers between fasteners and insulation boards — eliminating cold bridging at fixings while protecting foam surfaces from localised stress failure. The large footprint prevents ‘pull-through’ and supports long-term panel alignment, especially in vertical or overhead installations. Commonly applied in roof insulation retrofits, cavity wall upgrades, and modular build systems — also used by contractors and tradespeople for sealing around service penetrations and reinforcing perimeter fixings in external wall insulation (EWI) systems.
