4mm Self Watering Cotton Wick

This 4mm wick cord uses tightly twisted natural cotton strands to maximise surface area and capillary channel density. Its neutral pH and zero off-gassing make it suitable for edible herbs, baby’s breath, and flowering houseplants alike. No dyes, glues or fire retardants are used in production. It functions best when the water reservoir sits 5–15cm above soil level — creating gentle gravitational assist to complement capillary draw. Once primed, the cord delivers water at ~1–3ml per hour depending on ambient temperature and soil dryness — enough to sustain most 10–15cm pots for up to five days without refilling. Tested across UK indoor environments (16–22°C, 40–60% RH), it shows minimal performance drop between winter and summer use — outperforming many blended-fibre cords that stiffen or shed in cooler, drier air.
