Adjustable Solar Imaging Filter

Size: 8 cm × 8 cm × 2.5 cm. Mass: 50 grams. Main structure: CNC-machined metal frame; optical element: coated optical glass. Package choice: single ND2–400 filter lens, or comprehensive kit containing filter lens, universal smartphone clip, magnetic-style lens cover, branded microfibre cloth, and woven nylon storage bag. Colour: muted grey. Delivers precise control over solar light intensity through mechanical ND adjustment — spanning nine tactile stops from ND2 (T=0.5) to ND400 (T=0.0025), enabling optimal exposure for smartphone sensors with varying ISO ranges and dynamic capabilities. Optimised for direct solar imaging — including annular, partial, and total eclipse phases — without reliance on software-based exposure compensation that often fails under extreme contrast. Use cases include classroom demonstrations, citizen science projects, backyard astronomy, and travel photography — compatible with all mainstream smartphone models released since 2018, whether using native camera app or third-party manual controls.
