Bimetallic Ice Thickness Probe Ultra-Cold

A dedicated mechanical ice thickness sensor designed for consistent, low-maintenance performance in Scotsman ice machines operating under demanding ultra-cold conditions. The probe uses a calibrated bimetallic tab that physically deflects as ice builds up on the evaporator plate, completing the harvest circuit at the optimal thickness. Its compact form factor (approx. 45 mm × 8 mm) and 12 g weight ensure secure fitment without adding strain to control linkages. Constructed from stainless steel and precision-bimetalled alloy, it withstands repeated freeze-thaw cycles and condensation exposure. Compatible only with Scotsman models specifying mechanical thickness sensing — not suitable for units using optical or electronic sensors. Install during scheduled servicing to restore accurate ice cube sizing and prevent over-harvesting or thin-ice issues.
