BNO055-Based 9-Axis Orientation Module

This orientation module leverages the Bosch BNO055 IC to unify 3-axis acceleration, 3-axis angular velocity, and 3-axis magnetic field sensing in a single surface-mount package. Constructed on a 27.6 × 13.0 × 4.5 mm FR-4 PCB, it includes a 10-pin 0.1-inch male header and requires only a 3–5 V DC supply, regulated internally via LDO. Data is accessible via I²C or UART, with configurable output formats: raw sensor readings or fused orientation data (Euler angles, quaternions, linear acceleration, gravity vector). Target applications include motion-enabled human interface devices, indoor positioning aids, and educational robotics platforms. Fully compatible with Windows 8.1 and widely adopted in maker and engineering communities for its balance of accuracy, size, and ease of integration.
