Made from premium PC (polycarbonate) engineering plastic — chosen for its balance of stiffness, impact absorption, and dimensional stability across seasonal UK temperature ranges. Fully compatible with Brompton’s officially supported drivetrain variants: single-speed, Sturmey-Archer 3-speed, SRAM 2-speed, Shimano Nexus 5-speed, and Shimano Nexus 8-speed internal hubs. Functions as a passive but highly effective tension stabiliser — absorbing micro-movements from frame flex and hub engagement while keeping the chain taut during ride, stop-start traffic, and daily folding routines. Lightweight and non-intrusive, it integrates invisibly into the Brompton’s folded profile.
