EDIAG ELITE supports bidirectional control function: Bi-directional control capability allows active tests to access vehicle-specific subsystems and component tests. The tester outputs commands to the ECU to drive actuators in order to determine the integrity of the system or parts by reading ECU data or monitoring actuator operation. It can actuate relays, injectors, coils, solenoid valves, and other actuators for active testing to help identify errors. The bidirectional functions are extensive.
