Cover-up - a debt to a ghost

this book is the third in my billy joe mcallister series. in this installment, a ghost from billy's past-a former lover and adversary-reappears, dying, with one last request, shattering billy's quiet life: rescue her daughter from a brutal iraqi prison. haunted by regret and a deep sense of responsibility, he must navigate a treacherous world of old enemies and fragile alliances to pull off an impossible mission, confronting the life he left behind and the family he never knew he had.the story is for readers who enjoy fast-paced thrillers with a strong, reflective protagonist. readers who also enjoy the high-stakes action and international intrigue of authors like lee child or vince flynn, but are also attracted to a hero with a deep well of personal history and emotional complexity. this book will resonate with those who enjoy seeing a world-weary but highly capable older character forced to confront his past in a very direct and dangerous way.the story features an incredible array of strong, competent women from different generations and cultures-addy, eleanor, yasmin, princess sara, farah, grandmother zainab. they aren't sidekicks; they are drivers of the plot and the emotional core of the story.
