Crosshead Wood Masher Non Scratch

Overall size: 27.8 cm L × 8.5 cm W × 8.5 cm H (10.94″ × 3.35″ × 3.35″). Made from a single block of sustainably sourced, kiln-dried solid hardwood — certified BPA-free and untreated with oils, waxes, or sealants. The wood’s natural density ensures resistance to impact splits, moisture-induced warping, discolouration from turmeric or beetroot, and absorption of garlic or fish odours. Functional highlight: The crosshead — a symmetrical, recessed grid formed directly into the working end — creates four distinct pressure zones. This distributes force evenly across ground meat, preventing clumping and promoting uniform particle breakdown. It also allows controlled shearing action when mixing salad dressings or folding herbs into mashed potatoes, preserving ingredient integrity. Practical integration: Fits comfortably in most UK kitchen drawers (depth ≤ 9 cm) and hangs neatly on standard utensil racks. The handle’s rounded profile supports both pinch-grip (for fine control) and full-hand grip (for power-intensive mashing), adapting to user preference and task demand — whether prepping Sunday roast accompaniments or weekday quick meals.
