MONUmini is an iconic architectural model kit; a perfect memento or a fun gift for any design enthusiast. The kit includes a sheet of etched stainless steel pieces which fold and lock together to create the miniature structure. Each model kit also includes step-by-step assembly instructions and a short building history which is all packed into an attractive envelope making them a great little (easy-to-post
) souvenir. The original Crystal Palace was built in London's Hyde Park to house the 1852 Great Exhibition, the worlds first international culture and industry trade fair. Designed by Joseph Paxton, the modular structure is a superb example of Victorian efficiency and invention. Famously, the huge building was adapted and relocated to South London where it continued to be a popular venue for exhibitions and events until a catastrophic fire destroyed the building in 1936.
