This EP4CE6E22 FPGA core board is designed for rapid prototyping and educational use, measuring 10 × 5 × 2 cm (3.94 × 1.97 × 0.79 in) and constructed on a durable black PCB. At its heart is the Altera Cyclone IV EP4CE6E22 FPGA, supported by essential peripherals: a CH340 USB-to-serial bridge for JTAG programming and UART communication, a W25Q SPI flash memory chip for configuration storage, five user LEDs, five pull-up buttons, a 27 MHz pushbutton clock, and two active crystal oscillators (including a precise 50 MHz unit). The board provides configurable I/O voltage selection to match diverse peripheral logic levels. Because the FPGA is SRAM-based and loses its configuration when powered off, users must program the bitstream into the onboard W25Q flash memory and perform a full power cycle to boot from it — ensuring reliable, repeatable startup behaviour.
