DB9 to RJ9 4P4C RS232 Mount Control Cable

This 1.8-meter RS232 control cable facilitates reliable serial communication between a computer and a computerized equatorial mount’s hand controller. It uses a DB9 male connector on the computer side and a standard RJ9 (4P4C) modular plug on the telescope side — matching the physical and electrical interface requirements of numerous equatorial mounts sold across the UK and European markets. Built with ABS and metal components, it balances lightweight portability with structural resilience. The cable supports both interactive telescope control via astronomy software and offline firmware flashing procedures. As most current-generation laptops omit DB9 ports, pairing with a Serial-to-USB adapter is necessary — a straightforward integration step supported by all major OS platforms.
