DIY Bamboo Sushi Kit

A practical, no-frills sushi making kit built for first-time makers: two 27 x 27 cm carbonised bamboo rolling mats, one 30 cm rice paddle, one 22 cm rice spreader, five 23 cm pairs of bamboo chopsticks, and one sturdy canvas bag for daily storage. All elements are cut from mature bamboo stalks, then carbonised to deepen colour and increase surface hardness — resulting in tools that resist dents, stains, and swelling better than untreated variants. The kit’s design reflects real-world UK home use: compact footprint suits small kitchens; lightweight components reduce fatigue during extended prep; and natural grain patterns offer visual feedback on rice adhesion and nori tension. It supports progressive learning — start with simple cucumber rolls, advance to tuna or salmon variations — all while using tools that feel familiar, responsive, and quietly authoritative. Care involves wiping after use and occasional hand washing with pH-neutral soap — no special conditioners or oils required.
