Eco Bamboo Scattering Urn

This eco bamboo scattering urn is hand-made using FSC-certified bamboo harvested from managed groves in Asia, then shaped, sanded, and polished entirely by hand in a small workshop setting. Dimensions: 9" L × 5 cm Ø; volume ≈ 55 cu in (holds ashes of person ≤ 70 lbs). Walls are intentionally thickened for crush resistance, and the lid seals via precise taper-fit geometry — no glue, metal, or synthetic components involved. Includes a lined black velvet carry bag with drawstring closure for secure, silent handling. Biodegradability is inherent: bamboo cellulose breaks down naturally in soil or water within 6–24 months depending on environmental conditions. Its restrained design prioritises function and feeling — not ornamentation — supporting solemnity without theatricality. Ideal for scattering in UK national parks, churchyards, woodland burial sites, or private gardens where ecological impact is regulated or culturally valued. The neutral tone and organic texture invite touch and presence — turning a utilitarian object into a quiet companion during grief’s earliest stages.
