Educational DIY Robot Dog Kit

Dimensions: 13.5 × 8 × 7 cm (5.3 × 3.1 × 2.8 inches). Constructed from robust, food-grade ABS plastic — BPA-free, odourless and certified for toy use in the UK/EU. Requires 2 × AA batteries (not included) to power the walking function. Includes one full DIY robot dog kit with interchangeable parts for dog or cat builds. Each piece is injection-moulded to tight tolerances, ensuring repeatable fit and smooth articulation. The walking action relies on a cam-and-lever system driven by a core gearbox — delivering quiet, continuous motion without vibration or overheating. Assembly sequence encourages hypothesis testing: ‘What happens if I reverse this joint?’ or ‘Will it walk with shorter legs?’ — promoting inquiry-led learning. This is not a one-time build: children return to refine balance, experiment with limb angles or adapt for ‘off-road’ surfaces (e.g., thick carpet), turning each session into applied engineering. Shared builds foster explanatory language — ‘I put the big gear here so it turns slower’ — strengthening metacognition. All packaging and components comply with UKCA marking requirements and REACH chemical restrictions.
