Focus Supplements MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) with Vitamin C (600mg) Capsules
What Is MSM?
MSM stands for methylsulfonylmethane. It's a naturally occurring compound found in both plants and animals. The body uses it to build sulfur-containing proteins which account for some of the most important proteins in the human body.
Collagen for example, the most abundant protein in the human body relies on sulfur for its structure. Other proteins include keratin (the protein that makes up the bulk of our skin), and fibrin (the protein involved with blood clotting and repair) also require sulfur.
MSM makes sulfur accessible to the cells in order to manufacture these proteins. It also offers a good source of antioxidants to protect cells throughout the body from damage. This is especially useful for supporting the muscles and joints.
Sulfur & Protein Manufacture
Many people are unaware of the importance sulfur plays in protein manufacture. Sulfur is the third most abundant mineral in the human body, and plays an important role in many of our most abundant and useful proteins. Sulfur serves as a way to hold the shape of these proteins through special connections known as “disulphide bridges”.
What Are The Benefits Of MSM?
Speeds muscle and joint recovery Provides rich antioxidant support Protects the skin from early-ageing by supporting collagen production
How Much Should I Take?
The recommended daily dose of MSM is 1200 mg per day. This equates to 2 of our MSM capsules every day. We recommend taking them after a workout or during periods of joint or muscle pain. Long term use may be required for long-term joint discomfort.
