High-Density SlimSAS Distribution Cable

At 0.5m length and ~120g weight, this cable uses an SFF-8654 8i SlimSAS male connector on the input side and two SFF-8643 4i Mini SAS HD male connectors on the output side. Its construction combines ultra-fine twinax conductors, foil + braid shielding, and a tightly woven nylon braid jacket — balancing flexibility, crush resistance, and EMI suppression. The overall diameter remains under 5.5mm for unobstructed routing in narrow service aisles and shallow-depth enclosures. It complies with SAS-3 physical layer specifications and delivers stable 12Gbps per lane operation across both downstream links. As a passive component, it retains full SAS topology awareness — supporting multipath I/O, automatic failover, and enclosure-level LED control via SES-2 — all transparently passed from host to device. Typical use cases include upgrading legacy storage nodes with modern SlimSAS controllers, consolidating cabling in hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) nodes, and enabling mixed-vendor storage pooling in private cloud environments — all while adhering to strict data centre cabling standards (e.g., TIA-942, ISO/IEC 24764).
