Built around the widely trusted Sony IMX219 8MP sensor (1/4 inch format), this camera module offers native 3280 × 2464 resolution output via MIPI interface. It has an f/2.0 lens with a fixed 77° horizontal field of view and a 2.96 mm focal length. Measuring roughly 25 mm × 24 mm, it combines a durable plastic and metal enclosure for thermal stability and mechanical resilience. Supplied with a Pi5-specific flexible ribbon cable, it ensures reliable signal transmission and strain relief. Designed for Raspberry Pi 5 only, it supports out-of-the-box use for still capture and video streaming. Common applications include time-lapse photography, slow-motion recording, home surveillance, real-time OctoPrint camera feeds, and autonomous wildlife camera traps.
