Stage 1 handles scissors via tungsten steel; Stages 2–4 are calibrated for knives: coarse reshaping (diamond), intermediate smoothing (ceramic), final polishing (ceramic). The adjustable angle knob allows presetting between common bevel ranges (e.g., 15°–20°), supporting European and Japanese blade profiles. Designed for consistent contact across full blade length — from tip to heel — without slipping or misalignment. Operation: place unit on stable surface, insert blade vertically into slot aligned with arrow, draw once or twice toward body. Wipe body with dry cloth; gently brush ceramic/diamond rods to remove metal particles. Store in dry location — water exposure risks delamination of diamond plating and ceramic grain loosening.
