Nema17 Closed-Loop Driver MKS SERVO42C Board

The MKS SERVO42C is a dedicated closed-loop driver board engineered for Nema17 stepper motors used in 3D printers and motion control systems. It integrates position, speed and torque control loops using a 14-bit magnetic encoder for accurate real-time feedback. Powered by a Cortex-M0+ microprocessor, it operates within 7–28V input range and supports adjustable current output from 0 to 3000mA. Its four half-bridge driver stage uses eight MOSFETs for efficient switching and thermal resilience. Subdivision is configurable from 1 to 256 (including odd numbers such as 11), delivering 0.08° angular resolution. Control loop update rates are 10 kHz for position and velocity, and 20 kHz for torque. Motor speed reaches up to 1000 RPM, enabling maximum printing speeds of 150–180 mm/s. The board is compact, easy to wire and mount, and offered either standalone or bundled with a compatible Nema17 motor.
