Function and benefit The QRM canceller provides adjustable phase angle and amplification to cancel the unwanted signal before it reaches the receiver front end, helping to reduce interference at the source. Builtin features and setup requirements The unit includes a builtin PTT control to keep the canceller connected during transmission. An auxiliary receiving antenna is required for operation, such as a 2m antenna or only a few meters of wires placed in a shed. How it works The two antennas receive the unwanted signals, resulting in different phases, which the canceller uses to achieve cancellation before the signal enters the receiver. Innovation and performance comparison It is based on a completely innovative concept and cannot be compared with the normal 'silencer' performance. Use scenarios and applications Amateur radio stations experiencing strong QRM from nearby transmissions, where frontend suppression is beneficial. Field or shack installations requiring an auxiliary receiving antenna (2m or a short wire) to enable prefrontend interference cancellation. Fixed installations with persistent interference seeking improved signal integrity during transmission, thanks to early cancellation.
