Ravenscourt 1871 Rugby T-Shirt

Ravenscourt 1871 Rugby T-Shirt\nFounding Member of the Rugby Football Union in 1871 - Ravenscourt 1871 Rugby T-Shirt\n\n\nRavenscourt Park was founded in 1865. It was a club made up almost entirely of Old Rugbeians. This was partially due to its establishment at such an early period in the sports history, and there were very few schools that played football in thestyle of Rugby School.\n\nThis meant that Ravenscourt Park was one of the few non-school sides that Rugby School elected to play, because the rules by which it played were the same. The club produced no fewer than six of the first English internationals during the early 1870s. Players included Alfred Davenport, William Moberly and John Dugdale. In addition, Francis Isherwood, Arthur Michell and Ernest Still. Alfred Davenport was also a founder member of the Oxford University Rugby Union Football Club in 1869. Also, the first ever Captain of Oxford University.\n\n\nRavenscourt Park RFC along with 21 Rugby Clubs formalised the game of Rugby Football\nIt was on the 4th of December 1870, Edwin Ash of Richmond and Benjamin Burns of Blackheath published a letter in The Times suggesting that those who play the rugby-type game should meet to form a code of practice as various clubs play to rules which differ from others, which makes the game difficult to play.\n\nSo on the 26th of January 1871. A meeting attended by representatives from 21 clubs was held in London at the Pall Mall Restaurant on Regent Street.\nThis historic event inspired the design of The 21 Club Collection and the Ravenscourt 1871 Rugby T-Shirt\nThe 21 Club fashion collection from Ellis Rugby gains inspiration from this historic event that fashioned the game of Rugby Football.\n\nThe 21 clubs present at the meeting were - Blackheath (represented by Burns and Frederick Stokes the latter becoming the first captain of England), Richmond, and Ravenscourt Park. Also, West Kent, Marlborough Nomads, Wimbledon Hornets, Gipsies, and Civil Service. In addition, The Law Club, Wellington College, Guys Hospital, Flamingoes, Clapham Rovers, and Harlequin F.C. Also, Kings College Hospital, St Pauls, Queens House, and Laussane. Finally,Addison, Mohicans, and Belsize Park.\n\nWhile many of these teams have subsequently disbanded. The Ellis Rugby 21 Club Collection brings these clubs back to life to form an exciting range of contemporary fashion wear.\nThe 21 Club Collection by Ellis Rugby\nManufactured from satin touch 100% cotton, the Ravenscourt 1871 Rugby T-Shirt features a detailed Raven applique. In addition, includes herringbone detail on vents, and tape on the neck opening. Also, Ellis Rugby branding on the arm.\n\nThe available sizes are S 5XL.
