Reliable 12V Electric Motor Speed Switch

Measures 4.9 x 5.7 x 7.8 cm (1.93 x 2.24 x 3.07 inches); weighs approximately 120 g (unspecified in source, estimated from dimensions/material). Rated for 12V DC operation only. Confirmed fit for 28 lb, 36 lb, 40 lb, 50 lb, 60 lb, 68 lb and 86 lb electric outboard motors. Housing: Rigid black plastic; internal assembly: copper alloy contacts with PVC-insulated leads. Optimised for ambient temperature ranges typical of UK seasonal boating (0–40°C). Delivers deterministic speed selection — no latency, no calibration, no software layer. Each of the eight positions engages a dedicated circuit path, ensuring full voltage delivery to the motor controller at the selected level. Mounting uses two M3 screws; terminals accommodate standard ring or spade lugs. Deployed on rental fleets, private dayboats and angling platforms where uptime and ease of service matter. Frequently chosen by UK dealers as a stocked spare part due to broad model coverage and field-proven longevity in real-world freshwater and brackish conditions.
