Self-tapping Carbon Steel Thread Inserts

This 20-piece pack contains carbon steel self-tapping thread inserts with an inner thread of M6×1.0 and outer thread of M10×1.5. Measuring approximately 14 mm in length, they are suited for medium-duty fastening tasks in metal, plastic, and composite materials. Carbon steel offers a favourable balance of tensile strength, wear resistance, and affordability for recurring industrial use. Each insert features sharp, well-defined cutting edges that cut their own mating thread during installation — eliminating the need for pre-tapped holes or separate tapping operations. The resulting thread interface offers high shear strength and excellent resistance to stripping, even after multiple disassembly cycles. Frequently specified in UK OEM supply chains and third-party repair manuals for appliances, power tools, and agricultural equipment, these inserts support durable, serviceable designs aligned with circular economy principles and extended product lifecycles.
