Silicone Carbide Fluted Rubbing Brick

Physical profile: ~12 cm × 8 cm × 4 cm block with integral plastic handle; abrasive component: monolithic fluted silicon carbide stone (20 grit nominal), mechanically bonded to base; handle material: UV-stabilised polypropylene, ribbed for slip resistance and comfort; unit weight: approx. 280 g — light enough for overhead use yet substantial enough to maintain downward force without excessive arm effort. Functional behaviour: Delivers progressive, self-sharpening abrasion — as the surface wears, flutes expose fresh silicon carbide crystals rather than exposing softer binder material. Especially effective on Portland cement-based substrates, fibre-reinforced renders, and pre-cast concrete panels common in UK infrastructure and housing developments. Primary usage context: Final surface refinement prior to coating specification compliance (e.g., BS EN 13914-1 for external rendering), or corrective work following mechanical scutching — frequently specified by main contractors for interface zones between new and existing masonry elements.
