Uses a three-point metal probe activated by soil conductivity and ion interaction, translated visually via a central pointer dial. Requires minimal setup: soil must be cleared of surface layer (5 cm), ground to uniform consistency at 13 cm depth, freed of organic contaminants, and evenly moistened. For fertility, insert ≥60 mm and read after ~10 s; for pH, fully insert moistened probe and wait ~60 s. Lightweight, pocketable, and fully self-contained — suitable for amateur gardeners, allotment holders, and small-scale producers seeking dependable, repeatable soil data without technical overhead.
