For centuries, man has sought to see the future. For Billy Garrett and his friends, knowing the future is a curse. "Which one of you boys is William Garrett?" "What do you want," I said, breaking every safety rule that my mother ever taught me. "My name is Mr. Gold. I want to talk to you about what you see." He spoke in a whisper. I began to shake. "Do not disrupt the Chain again," Mr. Gold said, moving closer. "Or you will be punished." To save the world, four young boys will fight to change destiny.
