The crow and the spoon

The crow and the spoon is a lyrical, prophetic, and deeply humane collection of poems and epistles by lora l. lee, written for a world aching for tenderness, truth, and moral clarity.blending surreal parable, spiritual witness, and grounded compassion, this book follows recurring voices-gaia, the wind, the forgotten, the grieving, and the quietly brave-as they speak from hospital corridors, broken homes, ruined fields, and ordinary kitchens. in pieces such as "the hospital with no spoons," where "the babies...began to dream of full bellies" final-1, lee confronts injustice without abandoning hope.throughout the collection, readers encounter poems that resist silence and honor courage, including the call to "speak, not to be applauded, / but to refuse the silence" final-1. these pages insist that kindness is not weakness, remembrance is resistance, and love is an active moral force.organized around poetic commandments, sermons, and epistles, the crow and the spoon invites readers into a spiritual landscape where land cannot be owned, grief must be witnessed, and children matter more than empires final-1. the voice of gaia appears as both witness and guide, reminding humanity that borders are illusions and compassion is sacred labor.the book culminates in a final blessing that affirms ordinary holiness: "what you touch becomes your scripture... / that becomes your gospel" final-1. here, lee offers a vision of faith rooted not in doctrine, but in daily acts of mercy.both intimate and expansive, the crow and the spoon speaks to readers who feel deeply, question bravely, and believe that healing begins in small, faithful gestures. it is a book for those who grieve, those who hope, and those who refuse to stop caring.
