Thermo-Responsive Egg Doneness Timer

Exact dimensions: 5.5 cm × 4 cm × 3.2 cm. Constructed from rigid, FDA-compliant polystyrene (marketed as ‘resin’ but technically food-grade, BPA-free, non-toxic polystyrene). Bright yellow colour enhances readability in boiling water. Contains two units per pack — no variations or colour options. The timer’s thermochromic layer reacts to cumulative thermal energy, not time — meaning it accounts for real-world UK cooking variances: egg size (medium vs large), starting temperature (fridge vs counter), water volume, and hob type (induction heats faster than gas, affecting heat transfer rate). Colour evolution maps directly to egg texture outcomes expected by UK consumers: tender set white, jammy yolk, fully firm yolk. Intended for use in covered pots with sufficient water coverage. Hand wash only with mild detergent and soft cloth — avoids micro-scratches that dull colour response. Not suitable for microwave, oven, or freezer use. Designed for daily UK household use, not commercial catering.
