Turntable Stylus Force Scale for o Equipment

New Riverstone Audio Record-Level Turntable Stylus Tracking Force Gauge/Scale Product Details A professional tracking force gauge designed for vinyl record enthusiasts interested in precise measurement of vertical tracking force (VTF). For accurate VTF measurement, the stylus tip should be at the same vertical position as the record surface—referred to as "record level." With Riverstone's professional VTF gauge, vertical tracking force is measured approximately 2 mm to 3 mm from the surface of a turntable mat or platter—the height of a stylus tip resting on an LP record (LPs have a thickness range of 1.9 mm to 2.9 mm). This gauge allows measurement without removing your platter mat, as the gauge arm positions the stylus tip at the correct height. Less expensive gauges typically measure stylus tip force at distances between 6 and 10 mm, which can lead to inaccurate tracking force readings. To minimize interference with magnets in MM and MC cartridges, the gauge is constructed from durable plastic, and the detachable cantilevered extension arm is made from non-ferromagnetic stainless steel. Two calibration masses (5g and 20g) are included for recalibration, which is a one-minute procedure. When used with larger calibration masses (not included), the gauge can be recalibrated for use up to 100 g. A polymer pad on the measuring platform protects the stylus tip and enables precise centering during measurement. The LED display emits a bright green light for easy readability. A detailed instruction manual is included. Overall dimensions: 52 mm (W) x 91 mm (L) x 12.0 mm (H); height measurement is taken with the cover removed. Installation of the record-level extension arm requires basic technical understanding, though no tools are needed. A tin storage box is included to protect the gauge when not in use. All Riverstone Audio Tracking Force Gauges are covered by a full two-year warranty. Requires one alkaline AAA battery (battery not included).
