This UHC (Ultra High Contrast) astronomical filter has a diameter of 3.18 cm (1.25 inches) and is constructed from precision optical glass housed in a durable aluminium frame — ensuring long-term mechanical stability and optical integrity. It functions as a broadband narrowband filter, selectively transmitting key emission lines (H-beta, O-III, and H-alpha) while strongly suppressing wavelengths dominated by urban skyglow and artificial light sources. Designed for direct integration with standard 1.25-inch eyepiece barrels using British Standard Whitworth (BSW) threading, it requires no adapters or modifications. Ideal for visual observation and DSLR/mirrorless astrophotography under light-polluted UK suburban or semi-rural skies, especially when targeting emission nebulae such as the Orion, Lagoon, or Dumbbell Nebulae.
