This fits all models of the for from 1996 to 2011, for -V from 1997 to 2006, for Element from 2003 to 2011, and for the from 2006 to 2014. This replacement hood release latch is a repair for the part number plastic latch which will often crack and break off of the cable. This can be installed in 5 to 10 minutes. This sale is not for the entire cable, just for the replacement latch handle that fits on the end of the cable. Machined from a solid block of aluminum. The normal cable replacement would take between 1-1/2 and 2 hours. This replacement latch can be installed in a few minutes. It requires the removal of the corner plastic kick plate. Then about 1 inch of the remaining plastic must be trimmed off of the cable with wire cutters. Slide the new latch over the end of the cable, tighten the 2 set screws, replace the corner plastic kick plate, and you are finished.
