The VL53L5CX is an advanced time-of-flight (ToF) multi-zone ranging sensor. It supports ranging, presence detection, proximity detection, ambient light detection, reflectance detection, multi-region detection, and 3D detection. Key features include: - Multi-zone distance measurement across up to 64 zones (8×8 array) - 63° wide diagonal field of view (adjustable via software) - Patented histogram algorithm for reliable object detection and suppression of cover glass crosstalk beyond 60 cm - Direct ToF technology enabling accurate absolute distance measurements regardless of target color or reflectivity - Maximum range of 4 meters with ±1–3 cm typical accuracy - High-speed operation up to 60 Hz - Operating voltage: 3–5 V - Interface: I²C - Optical cover sheet included for dust protection and sensor longevity Typical applications include smartphones, laptops, household robots, smart appliances, smart door locks, access control systems, retail shelves, vending machines, smart buildings, and smart agriculture systems.
