Wire Tracer Tone Generator Probe Set

Compact and robust cable tracing solution comprising a transmitter and receiver unit. Each unit measures approximately 14.5 × 6.5 × 3.5 cm and weighs around 160 g; full kit weight ~320 g. Powered by two standard 9V batteries (not supplied). Housing combines impact-resistant ABS plastic with reinforced metal contacts for long-term field durability. Compatible with RJ11 telephone interfaces, coaxial cables, automotive harnesses, and general low-voltage wiring — strictly for de-energised circuits only. In tone mode, the system emits a detectable signal through a single alligator clip connection, enabling rapid path-following through concealed routes like stud walls or floor voids. In continuity mode, it verifies circuit integrity using the RJ11 adapter and dual alligator clips — ideal for troubleshooting landline faults. The receiver’s sensitivity dial allows real-time adjustment to distinguish closely spaced conductors. Used by telecom installers, automotive technicians, and home renovators who need reliable, repeatable results without exposing themselves to unnecessary electrical hazards — especially where legacy wiring lacks documentation or labelling.
