XWFE-Compatible Carbon Water Filter

This replacement water filter is built for seamless integration with GE refrigerators using the XWFE filter standard. Its cylindrical design measures 10.5 x 2.5 inches and weighs 0.3 lbs. With a total filtration capacity of 100 gallons (378 litres), it operates using granular activated carbon certified to NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 53. The carbon media targets chlorine, VOCs, turbidity-causing particles (e.g., rust and sediment), and organic compounds responsible for off-tastes and smells. The outer shell is made from BPA-free, food-grade polypropylene. Installation follows GE’s original twist-lock mechanism: insert, rotate 90°, and click into place. To sustain peak filtration and prevent strain on the refrigerator’s water delivery system, replacement is advised every six months—or sooner if usage exceeds 100 gallons—supporting both water quality and appliance durability over time.
